Joseph Dermody (American, b. 1979) is a interdisciplinary artist and musician whose work seamlessly blends the visual and performing arts. His creative journey began in Rhode Island, where he immersed himself in art and music from an early age. Specializing in viola, Joseph earned advanced degrees in music performance, refining both his technical skill and artistic voice.

 

After graduate school, he relocated to Greenwich, CT, where his artwork quickly gained recognition, earning dozens of awards and features in prominent outlets such as Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, and TV’s Property Brothers.

Now based in Stamford, CT, Joseph continues to push creative boundaries. He is a founding member of ScapeTrio, a vibrant metro-area music ensemble, and the creator and director of Clay Hill Collaborative, a thriving local arts collective. Alongside his artistic pursuits, Joseph is a dedicated private teacher, passionate about inspiring others to explore and develop their own artistic and musical talents.

 

Most recently, Joseph has launched an innovative art series that merges technology with storytelling. This collection features visually striking works embedded with QR codes, allowing viewers to engage interactively and uncover stories about iconic historical and cultural figures. The series invites audiences to explore the lives and legacies of these influential individuals, blending visual art, technology, and education into a uniquely immersive experience.
